Chair - Marilyn Perkins M Ed, JP
Since coming to Wollongbar in 1984, I have been
immersed in community activities through a number of organisations. As my passion is education, I am fortunate to be Chair of ABCC at this exciting time in its history

Vice Chair - Helen Saenger
R.N., R.M., B.A.(Qld), M.N.(Flinders)
Helen is a trained nurse and midwife with a degree in Social Science and a Masters in Nursing. Helen has worked in the tertiary, health care and community sectors where her specialty was research and evaluation for twenty years. She has experience as a tutor at Southern Cross University and knowledge of teaching and learning principles across a range of disciplines.

Secretary - Caroline Woodhead
MBus.,BA (Hons)
Caroline has a background in Human Resource
Management and worked as a Management
Consultant in London. In 1989 she emigrated to
Australia and has been employed as a casual
lecturer at Southern Cross University. She is also
a tutor at Alstonville Ballina Community College in
Certificate IV Training and Assessment and has
been on the Board of Directors for about 5 years.
With her husband she also owns and manages
Alstonville
 Country Cottages.

Treasurer - Geoffery Gardiner
Geoff Gardiner has a background in investment
and science. He has been a Financial Adviser
since 1987 and worked as a Geologist for 15
years prior to that. He taught with the College
in its early days, as well as at Southern Cross
University. Until recently, he was the local Regional
Manager of the State Superannuation Fund of NSW. Geoff believes that education at all levels and ages gives people freedom and enables them to have choices in their lives
.

Member - Richard Hughes
Richard Hughes is a solicitor.  Richard previously taught library technicians, general studies and adult basic education courses at TAFE in the Far North Coast and in Sydney.  He is committed to access and equity to educational opportunity for economically and socially disadvantged people.

 

 

 

Member - Ros Mayberry
•Principal, Ballina High School, 2002 to 2009
•Vocational Education and Training North Coast Region Principal Representative 2001-2005
•Chaired Far North Coast VET committee for 14 years, jointly initiating several VET courses for school students in schools and TAFE.
•Led Ballina High School to 2004 Australian Training Award for Excellence in Vocational Education, North Coast Region Awards and NSW Award.
•Selected to lead the implementation of the first Trade School in NSW at Ballina High in 2007. One of the inaugural graduates won the Australian Training Award for Vocational Excellence.
•2008 Awarded a Melvin Jones Fellow for “Dedication to Humitarian Services” by Lions International Foundation.
•2009 Ballina Shire Citizen of the Year
•2009 North Region “Excellence in Education Award.”
•2009 and 2007 Far North Coast “Public Education Award.”
•2009 Illawarra and South East Region Ambassador for Public Education Award.
•Secretary Ballina Division of Legacy 2005-2009
•Former member of Ballina Crime Prevention Committee,  Ballina Shire Torch Relay Parade  Committee and the Blue Light Disco Committee.
